The site is strategically located within central Christchurch adjacent to the High Street mall. The building comprises a retail tenancy at street level with commercial office space over. There are 6 levels of car parking above this.
We were asked to develop the strategic direction for the retail podium. We identified the opportunity for a new destination Urban Marketplace comprising of fresh and prepared food, and ancillary food tenancies as a compatible use with the surrounding retail development mix.
We established through site laneway linkages connecting Hereford Street to the High Street, the insertion of these marketplace façade gateways establishes the character and identity of the marketplace within the building façade.
